The topic for the above meeting is “Distributism”. What more can I say than that this word has ignited some of the most passionate discussion when it has come up in past meetings, either as part of the agenda or as a tangent to other issues under consideration. We are undertaking it this month in particular because CREDO- St. Louis is sponsoring a talk on June 6 by Thomas Storck “What is the purpose of an economy?”; go to www.credostlouis.org for more information and on-line registration. A discount is available if you use “Chesterton” in the “Promotional/Discount Code” field.
Specifically concerning GKC and his advocacy of Distributism, I leave it to our members/followers to research the man’s views and will expect to hear from everybody at the meeting.
The St. Louis Chesterton Society meets at 7 PM on the third Monday of each month at O’Leary’s Restaurant, 3828 South Lindbergh, 1/2 mile south of I-44; phone # 314-842-7678 for directions. It is easily accessible from St. Louis City, and is close to the I-270/I-44 interchange.
